Submission Guideline

1. Aims & Scope

Urban Mass Transit is dedicated to introducing cutting-edge technologies, academic activities, and national policies in urban rail transit, for sustaining the sophisticated development of urban rail transit industry in China. 

The journal covers various areas related to urban rail transit, including transit planning, investment and financing, survey and design, construction, vehicles, power supply, communication, auto-control, electromechanical equipment, operation management.

2. Manuscript Writing

Manuscripts shall be written in accordance with the requirements and regulated formats provided in the manuscript template, or authors may refer to the recent published articles of the journal. 

Please be noted: The journal is in monochrome tone for printed version and is in full-color layout for electronic version (pdf format). Please provide high-resolution colored graphs for distinct visual presentation in monochrome printing. The manuscript (including figures and tables) should be managed within 5 pages (A4 layout, main body 10.5 pt, 1.3-line spacing).

3. Submission Guidelines

The journal requires online submission. Please visit the author submission system through journal's official website to submit manuscripts. For submission, please register to log in, and fill out the requested information on the manuscript. Documents should be in Word 97-2007 format.

Upon submission, the Copyright Transfer Agreement & Author Statement (available at Download Center) should be filled out and signed by all authors, and sent to the Editorial Office's email. 

After submission, manuscript status can be checked in the author submission system. For any questions, please send queries via the submission system or call 021-56830728-822.

4. Standard on Fees

Article publication fee (600 CNY/page) and review fee (300 CNY/page) shall be charged for published articles. Authors will be informed of the total amount of the fee by a Payment Notification. In addition, the journal would pay authors a remuneration (100 CNY/page) for published articles.

5. Appeals

In principle, rejected manuscripts would not be re-considered. Authors may appeal to the Editorial Office if they find errors in the review comments or if the manuscript is rejected due to misinterpretation.

Authors could send an appeal letter to the Editorial Office's email (umt1998@vip.163.com) and a brief explanation should be provided in the letter. Upon receiving the appeal letter, the Editorial Office shall investigate and address it as soon as possible and the result will be fed back to the author. Please do not submit the manuscript to other journals during the investigation on appeal. Authors may only appeal once for each manuscript and no further appeals will be accepted for that manuscript once the Editorial Office has returned the appeal feedback to the author.

6. Other Information

The manuscript review process includes: preliminary review by the Editorial Office, peer review by experts, and final review by the Editor-in-Chief. Generally, the whole process, from submission to acceptance, would take four to five months. In light of the sufficiency of the submitted manuscripts, a two-year timeline from submission to publishment will be the average expectancy, please take the factor into consideration.

Data Security: Authors' contact information, including author's name, email, affiliation and other details, will be used only for publishing articles and will be prevented from any other purpose. The journal protects the personal privacy of all authors and ensures that the confidentiality of personal information is not breached. 

Patent & Intellectual Property Rights: It is recommended that authors address all unsolved issues relating to patent application and intellectual property rights before submission. The acceptance and publication of articles would not be affected by these issues.
