Abstract:
In order to solve the problem of full loading and overloaded operation of Shanghai Metro Line 2 during the peak period, trains need to be inserted from Longyanglu Depot into the main line. But the depot has not adopted communication based train control (CBTC) mode and can not meet the operational requirements due to the disadvantages of low insertion efficiency and big outbound headway. Based on the existing engineering conditions, vehicle parameters, and track side layout, and combined with CASCO signal system, the operational capacity of Longyanglu Depot after CBTC retrofit is simulated. The analysis result shows that the operational capability of the depot is significantly improved in terms of the entrance/exit lines and the mainline insertion.
