Abstract: Since medium and low speed maglev train is relieved from the constraints of wheel-rail contact, it is urgent to develop a train grounding and lightning protection scheme that can ensure the safety of passengers and equipment. Based on the protection measures of ground traction power supply and the perspective of large system, a technical scheme of vehicle grounding and lightning protection for medium and low speed maglev train is comprehensively developed. The protection measures of vehicle in view of different fault conditions are discussed and analyzed.
