Abstract: Function positioning of the intercity railway in Shenzhen metropolitan area is systematically analyzed. Considering the classification of urban clusters in the Bay Area, a planning optimization strategy for the intercity railway in the metropolitan area is proposed. Key issues in network planning, such as flexible operation organization, unification of technical standards, and interoperation, are discussed.
