Abstract: At present, the research results of overlapping tunnels are generally based on the premises that the existing tunnel is effectively strengthened and supported. However, there are few research on how to strengthen and support the existing tunnel. Taking the shield interval overlapping tunnel between Loujiang Avenue Station and Kuayang Road Station of Suzhou Rail Transit Line 3 as basis, various supporting schemes for the construction of overlapping shield tunnels are introduced, and the merits and demerits of the schemes are compared and analyzed respectively. The designs arrangement, construction technology and supporting effect of wheeled hydraulic trolley supporting scheme is analyzed emphatically. Monitoring results show that wheeled hydraulic trolley supporting system can guarantee safety of down tunnel segments when overlapping shield tunnel up tunnel is under construction.
