Abstract: FAO (fully automatic operation) line is different from the conventional line in terms of operation scope, operation strategy, management mode, operation organization and maintenance procedures. Based on the FAO line operation scope and goal, the operation strategy of launching FAO line by stage is proposed, so that the DTO (driverless train operation) mode can be gradually transited to UTO (unattended train operation) mode. The management mode and production mode of FAO line are analyzed, and the management mode is suggested to match with operation/maintenance independent mode at the initial stage, and to adopt operation-maintenance integrated management mode in long-term. It is also suggested that when FAO line is launched, the production organization mode should gradually change from DTO mode to UTO mode to ensure FAO line operation safety and efficiency.
