Abstract: Objective: To meet the needs of special users such as the disabled and the elderly people, and to improve the service level of URT (urban rail transit), it is necessary to treat URT stations and urban roads as an entire system and enhance the design of accessibility facilities. Method: Addressing the requirements of accessibility design for URT stations, the technical requirements and design details pertaining to accessibility design within the scope of URT station design are expounded. Result & Conclusion: The accessibility design of URT station ensures the safe and convenient transportation of the disabled and the elderly people to their destinations using rail transit.
