Abstract:
Objective: Improper construction practices during metro shield tunneling or changes in operational load can cause segment staggering and joint opening, resulting in water seepage and sand leakage in the tunnel upon severity. It is necessary to detect the segment staggering and joint opening amounts within the tunnel ring rapidly and accurately. Therefore, a fast and comprehensive detection method based on point cloud is proposed. Method: The rotation projection method for extracting the central axis is introduced, and the specific calculation steps are outlined. The detection method for innerring segment staggering and joint opening of metro shield tunnel based on point cloud is described. The method is applied to a project in Beijing Subway to detect the innerring segment staggering and joint opening amounts. Result & Conclusion: The proposed detection method involves obtaining highprecision central axis using the rotation projection method, and unfolding the threedimensional point cloud of innerring segments based on the central axis. The detection of innerring staggering and joint opening is achieved by analyzing the spatial relationship of point cloud near the segment joints. The results of the practical application demonstrate that the method has strong practicability and can fulfill detection requirements. Compared to the commonly used bidirectional projection method, the rotation projection method achieves higher accuracy in central axis fitting, with the most suitable number of rotation projection times being three.
