Abstract:
Objective: Due to external operation disturbance, metro shield tunnel segments are prone to increased convergence deformation in the transverse sections, leading to multiple segment defects and compromising metro operation safety. Therefore, it is necessary to research improvement measures for the convergence deformation of tunnel segments. Method: Taking an interval tunnel in Hangzhou Metro as an example, the convergence deformation and distribution of tunnel segment major defects are introduced. The mechanism of tunnel segment transverse section convergence deformation is analyzed. An improvement scheme for transverse section convergence deformation of tunnel segments is proposed, consisting of MJS (metro jet system) piles and microdisturbance grouting, and the effectiveness of the proposed improvement measures is evaluated. Result & Conclusion: The proposed improvement scheme significantly improves the convergence deformation condition of tunnel segments, with the improvement amount of segment convergence deformation reaching 1020 mm, accounting for 20%40% of the convergence deformation in the segment transverse section. Due to the isolating effect of MJS piles, the segment rebound deformation after improvement is minimal, generally within 5 mm, which is approximately 20% of the convergence improvement amount. Reinforcing the tunnel bottom grouting during construction effectively prevents settlement deformation during and after the construction phase. The influence on tunnel vertical and horizontal deformations is minimal before and after the aforementioned improvement.
