Key Points in Line Splitting for Hangzhou Metro Line 1 Linping Branch

    Abstract:
Objective The splitting and renovation construction of metro operating lines is a highly complex task that involves multiple professional disciplines and challenges related to compatibility between new and existing systems. Such projects are characterized by high risks associated with system switchover, limited nighttime construction windows, and complex commissioning management procedures. To complete the splitting work without suspending or shortening metro operations, it is necessary to study the key points of the splitting process.
Method Taking the split project of Hangzhou Metro Line 2 Linping Branch Line as the research object, key points are explored from the aspects including scheme design, project implementation, operational coordination, and train operation organization. Specifically, key points involved in line splitting design stage such as the system interface relationship, compatibility between new and old equipment, design of switchover commissioning devices, and dismantling of obsolete equipment are examined. Furthermore, critical aspects involved in the implementation stage, such as EMU train debugging organization, software configuration management, switchover cabinet management, full-system switchover rehearsals, system cutover, operational coordination, and handover procedures are investigated. The goal is to minimize operational risks while completing the split work.
Result & Conclusion  After more than two years of splitting and renovation construction, the Linping Branch of Hangzhou Metro Line 1 has been successfully split. Following the completion of the project, both lines have achieved independent operation with all mechanical and electrical systems functioning properly, meeting the operational performance requirements.
