Abstract:
Objective To analyze the impact of different factors on the passenger volume of intercity railway stations and identify the weak links in station passenger flow attraction, it is necessary to conduct research on the influencing factors of intercity railway station passenger flow based on a multi-index classification method.
Method An index system for the passenger flow potential of intercity railway stations is constructed from three dimensions: surrounding development conditions, transportation connection conditions, and line service levels. An improved CRITIC weighting method is adopted to calculate the weight of each indicator, and three types of comprehensive evaluation indices are obtained. Relying on these three types of comprehensive evaluation indices, a station clustering analysis is conducted to study the passenger flow conditions of different types of stations and quantify the impact degree of various factors on passenger flow. Taking the intercity railway stations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as an example, an empirical analysis is carried out.
Result & Conclusion Transportation connection is an important factor influencing station passenger volume. Expanding the passenger flow attraction range and enhancing line competitiveness are key measures to improve intercity railway passenger volume. The development conditions within a short distance around the station have a relatively small impact on passenger flow. Based on the clustering analysis results, targeted research on passenger flow enhancement strategies for different types of stations can be further conducted to achieve the goal of improving the passenger flow benefits of intercity railways in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
