Failure Analysis and Preventive Measures for Twin-tower Dryer Reversing Valves in Metro Braking Systems

    目的 地铁列车制动系统双塔干燥器换向阀故障,会导致双塔干燥器无法完成干燥与再生状态切换,进而引发空压机停止工作,因此有必要分析双塔干燥器换向阀故障的根本原因,并制定针对性的预防控制措施。
    方法 以合肥轨道交通5号线多起双塔干燥器故障为例,结合故障逻辑和双塔干燥器的工作原理,确认故障点为换向阀。通过拆解故障换向阀,开展活塞组件尺寸测量、动作拉力测试和故障模拟试验,从活塞部件尺寸、阀盖安装扭力及防尘圈内径尺寸3个方面,对换向阀故障原因进行深入分析。
    结果及结论 测试结果表明:活塞部件尺寸均满足设计要求;阀盖安装扭力对活塞动作无显著影响;防尘圈内径尺寸直接影响活塞组件动作的顺畅程度。最终确定的换向阀故障原因为,防尘圈与活塞导程的内径尺寸低至设计要求下限值。后续已对合肥轨道交通5号线所有列车开展专项普查,并对异常部件实施预防性更换。

     

    Abstract:
    Objective The reversing valve failures in metro train brake system's twin-tower dryer may prevent the dryer from switching between drying and regeneration states, and further triggering the shutdown of air compressors. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the root cause of the reversing valve failure and develop targeted preventive measures.
    Method Taking multiple failures of twin-tower dryers on Hefei Metro Line 5 as examples, the reversing valve is confirmed as the failure point by combining the fault logic and the working principle of twin-tower dryers. Through disassembling failed reversing valves, piston component dimension measurements, actuation force tests, and failure simulations are conducted. The causes of the reversing valve failure are analyzed in depth from the piston component dimension, valve cover installation torque, and dust seal inner diameter three aspects.
    Result & Conclusion  The test results indicate that the piston component dimensions all meet the design requirements, and the valve cover installation torque has no significant impact on the piston action. However, the inner diameter of the dust ring directly affects the smoothness of the piston assembly movement. The root cause of the reversing valve failure is finally determined to be that the inner diameter dimensions of the dust ring and the piston guide reaching the lower limit of the design requirements. Subsequently, a special inspection has been carried out on all trains of Hefei Rail Transit Line 5, and preventive replacement of abnormal components has been implemented.
