Abstract:
Objective Urban agglomeration development relies on close transportation connectivity. In recent years, with the progressive improvement of the high-speed railway network and the emergence of suburban railways, comprehensive hubs integrating multiple networks—'high-speed railway-suburban railway-metro'—have continuously emerged within the Yangtze River Delta integrated region. The large passenger flows brought by rail transit have created significant development opportunities for areas surrounding stations, profoundly influencing functional demands and spatial forms in station precincts. As a catalyst for urban growth, high-speed railway can invigorate adjacent districts through station-led functionality improvement and enhance urban vitality. Effective station-area planning should not only emphasize transportation value, but also fully release the development dividends brought by rail transit through coordinated station-city development, thereby creating and enhancing urban value. Guided by the concept of station-city integration, an in-depth design investigation of the suburban railway hub station—Jiashan Station is carried out.
Method An innovative station-city integration analysis framework centered on the synergy of 'transport efficiency, economic benefit, and social benefit' (hereinafter referred to as the 'three benefits') is constructed. By analyzing international cases such as Shibuya Station in Tokyo and La Défense Station in Paris, as well as domestic cases including Shanghai Hongqiao Station and Chongqing Shapingba Station, the experiences and shortcomings of different models in the practice of the three benefits are systematically summarized. On this basis, focusing on Jiashan Station of the Jiaxing–Fengnan Suburban Railway, the advantages and disadvantages of different models at the level of the three benefits are clarified, a differentiated optimization path for Jiashan Station is identified, and an in-depth design scheme aimed at maximizing the synergy of the three benefits is proposed.
Result & Conclusion The study shows that the design scheme for Jiashan Station, based on a critical assimilation of domestic and international experience, achieves integrated innovation featuring more efficient and intelligent transportation, more diversified and robust economic performance, and a more inclusive ad people-oriented social dimension. Through multi-dimensional collaborative innovation, the station can be effectively upgraded from a transportation hub into a core driver of urban development.
