Abstract:
Objective Straddle monorail systems are characterized by small turning radii. Within small-radius curved sections, problems such as planar V-shaped beam joints and through cracks in pier caps have been encountered during construction. It is therefore necessary to analyze the causes of these issues and propose practical solutions.
Method Based on a straddle monorail project, theoretical analysis combined with on-site construction practices is employed to thoroughly analyze the causes of planar V-shaped beam joints and through cracks in pier caps, and targeted solutions are proposed.
Result & Conclusion By reasonably arranging the guideway beam span within small-radius curved sections, the formation of planar V-shaped beam joints can be effectively avoided; by improving the reinforcement of pier caps in small-radius curved sections, through cracks in pier caps can be effectively controlled and structural durability can be enhanced.
