Analysis and Calculation of Train Exit Capacity of Urban Rail Transit Stabling Yard and Depot

  • Targeting the increasing demand towards train exit capacity improvement of urban rail transit stabling yard and depot, by tackling the train exit procedure, the main factors that affect the capacity are analyzed from the aspects of equipment setting, operation management and personnel working efficiency. Furthermore, the train exit procedure is divided into three parts of entry array timing, driver operation timing and train operation timing and a method for calculating the exit capacity of metro depot is presented. Taking the Jiu Ting depot of Shanghai metro as an example for calculation and analysis. The results show that this train exit capacity calculation method can provide reference for making policies on depot capacity estimation, capacity bottleneck analysis and capacity enhancement measures.
