Study on Traffic Organization of Tourism Rail Transit Line
-
Abstract
As a flexible, less land-occupation and fast-constructing system, suspension monorail has a broad application prospect in domestic tourism rail transit. The passenger flow characteristics of tourism rail transit distinguish in terms of temporal distribution, spatial distribution and demand characteristics. Since the line functionality is different from that of urban rail transit, the common method of traffic organization does not satisfy the demand well. Considering the passenger flow characteristics, the design methods of three major elements in tourist rail transit, the number of train pairs, train routings and travel speed are studied. Finally, the case study of a tourism rail transit is provided to explain the traffic organization design, which suits the tourist flow in different periods. Results show that suspension monorail system is highly adaptable in tourism rail transit, providing reference for the implementation in specific projects.
