Impact Analysis of Residential Community Foundation Pit Construction on Adjacent Urban Rail Transit Test Tracks

  • Objective At present, the construction of residential communities and other buildings and structures in the vicinity of urban rail transit depot test tracks has become increasingly common. It is therefore necessary to analyze the impact of residential community foundation pit construction on adjacent depot test tracks.
Method The three-dimensional finite element numerical analysis software Midas GTS is used to establish a refined numerical model to simulate the entire construction process of a residential community foundation pit project, with particular attention paid to calculating the deformation of a depot test track before and after construction.
Result & Conclusion  Construction of a residential community foundation pit adjacent to a depot test track will induce certain lateral and vertical deformations of the test track; however, the magnitude of these deformations can be controlled within the allowable limits specified by relevant codes. The degree of influence of the residential community foundation pit construction on the test track decreases as the horizontal distance between them increases. When strictly complying with code requirements, construction of adjacent foundation pit projects can meet the protection requirements for urban rail transit depot test tracks.
